Africa![]() 3form works with various groups throughout Africa who help impoverished women find meaningful work in order to combat widespread poverty.
MaliWith the assistance of Aid to Artisans, 3form discovered a cooperative of women skilled in the art of crochet. Traditionally creating intricate lace for pillows, trim and other products, they have expanded their production to include Unravel- a new design for 3form Varia Ecoresin. The cooperative is led by an administrative council of 7 women committed to increasing the business in order to improve the quality of life of its members. This collaboration with 3form is a vital step in the ongoing success of the cooperative. SwazilandA studio founded in the 1940’s connects trained African weavers from Northern Swaziland with international textile designers and manufacturers. Employing around 40 women, the studio offers much needed training, skills and financial independence to a rural area. Although they specialize in mohair- including hand-spinning, dyeing, and weaving, they also work skillfully with locally produced organic cotton- creating the delicate hand-weaves of 3form Migration. South AfricaRegions in South Africa have the highest percentage of HIV-infected population in the world. 3form works with groups combating this epidemic through education and social development with a core belief that poverty in Africa will only be alleviated through trade. HIV-impacted women weave copper and traditional beads into the most well-known 3form Full Circle product- Ithemba. They receive business skills training, job skills training, marketing support and mentorship. View the products created in Africa > UNRAVEL

Nepal![]() 3form is committed to human development in a country with a tumultuous economy and the highest illiteracy rate in Asia. We work with a dedicated Nepalese partner, Lhakpa Sherpa, offering valuable opportunities to underserved artisans. Through his wife’s connection with the Kathmandu Association of the Deaf, Lhakpa employs-among others- members of the deaf community in his busy workshop. He also provides work for skilled weavers, whose jobs almost became obsolete through the technological advancement of the power loom. The organization provides educational opportunities for young workers facing illiteracy and exploitation. The workers are among very few in Nepal who are offered medical benefits. From remote villages in the Everest Base Camp Region to Nepal’s busy capital of Kathmandu, 3form products utilize various avenues of local trade. From those who harvest and transport the wild hemp used for Banana Fiber™ to the families who tend silk worms used in Connection™, 3form products have successfully created hundreds of jobs in one of the poorest countries in South East Asia. Colombia![]() The indigenous people of Colombia experience severe financial struggles from economic shifts. 3form works with a unique distributor committed to finding and promoting hand-crafted and sustainable materials from across the country. The products created for 3form come from two distinct regions of this South American nation. In the coastal regions of Colombia, members and descendants of the Zenu tribe work in an artisan association of 20 people producing a variety of handmade goods- including the interlayer for 3form Palau. Near Bogota, the Muisce tribe struggles with a difficult climate and a lost market for their native weave of Chia. A resourceful association of 25 women now produce Lasso and Lasso Coal x 2 from this age-old craft.

India![]() It is estimated that 30% of people in India live below the poverty line. 3form is pleased to work with a trading company who collaborates with women in five remote villages across rural India. By employing these artisans who work from home, 3form helps support the family unit and thereby the community as a whole. For generations, the villagers have harvested for food the bright shells growing in low lying water beds. Now the previously discarded shells are collected, dyed and sold to create a new income and purpose for the community as a whole. As a sole purchaser of this unique product, 3form has enabled remarkable change in this remote seaside community.
