“We are committed to continually reducing our overall environmental footprint.”
Zero Waste to Landfill
3form is committed to stop sending waste to the landfill. This is no easy feat in a factory where there are 50+ waste streams to manage and 300+ employees to educate and engage.
Waste Management
Across all departments, our number one goal is waste reduction. After that, our waste hierarchy is tiered with recycling at the top and landfill at the bottom. So far in 2011 we have been able to eliminate sending manufacturing waste to the landfill. Although we’re very proud of this achievement, we know we have work to do to increase our recycling rate.
Getting to Carbon Neutral
We have committed to becoming a carbon neutral facility by 2017. Conservation, increased efficiency, renewable energy, and verifiable offsets will allow us to reach our goal, drastically reducing our contribution to global warming.

3form is proud to be a founding reporter to The Climate Registry, through which we are committed to publicly reporting our greenhouse gas emissions. 2008 is our baseline year with all emissions data verified by a third party.
Conservation & Efficiency
Through greater awareness, policies, procedures, technology, and targeted programs, we strive to reduce our energy use, even as our company and production levels grow.

Renewable Energy
3form is an EPA Green Power Partner for our support of Green-e Energy certified renewable energy projects to offset our electricity use. We make this purchase through Rocky Mountain Power’s Blue Sky Program and their partner 3Degrees.

Carbon Neutral Operations and Travel
3form purchases verified emissions reductions to offset a majority of the emissions from our operations and corporate travel, including each outbound sales person. This purchase is made through Bonneville Environmental Foundation, a nonprofit organization that reinvests in renewable energy infrastructure, watershed restoration, and environmental education.
Carpooling and Alternative Transportation
3form actively encourages employees to carpool, bike, use public transit and get to work in some fashion that reduces single-occupancy vehicles and emissions. Preferred parking spots are reserved for carpool vehicles, showers are available for bikers and walkers, and a monthly raffle rewards employees who participate.

Hybrid Credits
3form offers a financial incentive to outbound sales representatives to purchase a hybrid vehicle that gets at least 40mpg.

Increase the Recycled Content of our Products
We are committed to continually increasing the recycled content in our existing materials and developing new and innovative products that use minimal or no virgin materials. Our product technology, purchasing and material design departments work together to provide high-design products with a lower-impact environmental footprint.
Low-Impact Products
so many product designs, so much recycled content

let nothing go to waste - it could turn into art
Low-Impact Products
3form continues to innovate and expand its lines of high-design, Low-Impact products. Our mission is to design beautiful materials that demand less from the natural world and are kind to people. Never satisfied, we are continually developing ways to further reduce the impact of our products and the way in which we produce them:
  • Our materials contain high levels of recycled content.
  • GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality certified: Varia Ecoresin, Chroma, 100 Percent, Alabaster.
  • Our products never contain PVC and can be reclaimed at end of use.

Lifecycle Responsibility
3form takes responsibility for its products. Our Reclaim program allows for the reuse and recycling of materials removed from installations or panels damaged in production. It is a bi-directional process that prevents panels from entering the landfill and extends their useful life.
3form
  • All 3form panels are shipped with labels and instructions for installers.
  • Imperfect panels or those damaged during production are trimmed of flaws and resold in smaller standard sizes on our Reclaim website.
Onsite
  • Installers place the label in a discreet location, such that it will only be seen upon dismantling.
  • When a project is dismantled, the contractor sees the label and notifies 3form, who then arranges for return shipping back to 3form facilities.
Back at 3form
  • Panels are inspected and, where possible, refurbished for donation or resale at a discounted price on our website.
  • Panels not in condition to be resold will be refurbished, donated, recycled, or disposed of in the most responsible way possible.
Material Returns
Recycling made easy - we’ve made it easy for you to return 3form panels at the end of use and see them efficiently reclaimed and reused in new installations. To reclaim your old panels, simply follow these 3 easy steps.
Specify
  • Include guidelines for recycling construction waste in your project specifications.
  • Affix 3form Reclaim information stickers to panels during installation so they can be properly returned at end-of-use.
Remove & Package
  • Stack your 3form panels on a pallet slightly larger than the biggest panel you are recycling.
  • Place a cardboard or protective plastic layer between each panel.
  • Secure the panels to the pallet by either wrapping them with industrial strength plastic wrap or by banding the pallet with steel or poly strapping.
Contact
Contact 3form when your pallet of material is ready. We’ll arrange for pick-up of the pallet at your convenience and at no cost to you. You can arrange pick-up by calling 800.726.0126 or via email at reclaim@3-form.com.

Our 7th annual Greenweek – the week each year when, as a company and as individuals, we celebrate and give extra attention to the environment and our environmental performance – was truly inspiring! The week started with us taking a retrospective look at our achievements and renewing our dedication to thinking differently and lowering our impact. This year’s theme – thinkFEELdo – challenged us to not only make solid decisions and do better but to ground our actions in what inspires and motivates us individually. From waste sorting races, to bike-powered smoothies, to So You Think You Can Green performances, 3form staff enjoyed a week of challenges, education, friendly competition and fabulous prizes.
A truly organic, grass roots effort, Greenweek inspires and challenges us.
Can you say re-CYCLE?
Employees certainly did, riding to work for Greenweek in droves.
Additionally, many employees took public transportation or formed carpools.
