Introducing Tulsi, our Nepalese artisan design that features a winding, textured material, made entirely from Lokta paper that is hand-piped in a unique interwoven, spiral-like fashion.

We love this rigorous design process that results in something special and unachievable anywhere else in the world. This product puts a spotlight on different parts of the world and longstanding artistic skill sets that have developed over centuries.

Native to Nepal

Nepal's handmade Lokta paper-making process remains the same after thousands of years. Made from the fibrous bark of the Lokta plant, native to the high elevations of the Himalayan mountains, it is mashed into a pulp and screen dried into durable, opaque sheets.

Tulsi follows the same process until the pulp is hand-piped into a spiral-like design, winding across the screen, resulting in irregular, asymmetrical gaps of space. Those nonuniform apertures bend and shape natural light as it passes through the product.
